Professional Information
Occupational Therapist graduated from the University of Chile with a Master’s degree in Health Administration and Management from Universidad de los Andes. She has extensive professional experience in direct care of older adults and their caregivers, public policy management, accessibility, and universal design.
At Universidad de los Andes Faculty of Medicine, she works as an assistant professor involved in curriculum design, teaching, and coordinating occupational therapy courses. She has contributed to developing sociosanitary intervention models and led academic accreditation processes.
Research interests
Her research focuses on functionality, participation, and well-being of older adults, emphasizing early detection of functional decline and prevention of dependency. She leads projects validating functional assessment tools in collaboration with national and international health agencies. She also investigates interdisciplinary integration between health, transportation, and urban design to promote age-friendly cities. Additionally, she is involved in curricular innovation and evaluation in occupational therapy.
Teaching
At Universidad de los Andes Faculty of Medicine, she teaches theoretical and practical occupational therapy courses, including community intervention, research methodology, and conceptual foundations. She has coordinated student practical training, integrating student-centered methodologies to foster technical, cognitive, and psychoemotional skills development. She participates in academic and ethical-scientific committees and supervises undergraduate and graduate theses.
