Professor Alfredo Sierra Herrero is a lawyer and Doctor of Law, recognized for his distinguished academic and professional trajectory in the field of Labor Law in Chile.
Teaching
Professor Sierra currently serves as the Director of the Department of Labor Law and Director of the Master’s Program in Labor Law at the Faculty of Law, Universidad de los Andes (Chile).
He teaches courses in Labor Law and Commercial Law.
Research interests
Professor Sierra focuses his research on various areas within Labor Law, including:
- Business succession and its labor implications
- Workers’ rights to participate in employer changes
- The employment status of digital platform workers
- The right to disconnect in the context of information and communication technologies
- Legal regime of inventions created by employees
He has led and participated in research projects funded by the National Agency for Research and Development (ANID), including studies on business succession in Chilean labor law and the legal framework governing employee-created inventions.
