Alfredo Luis Eyzaguirre Prudant, Especialidad Odontológica

I am a dentist whose professional background is primarily focused on university teaching and the education of dental students. I work as an academic, contributing to both theoretical and clinical training, with a strong emphasis on strengthening clinical reasoning, evidence-based decision making, and the development of patient-centered professional competencies. My teaching activities include delivering lectures, supervising clinical practice, assessing student performance, and providing ongoing guidance throughout the learning process.
I am strongly committed to continuous professional development through courses, training programs, and academic learning opportunities, which enables me to integrate updated and relevant content into both classroom and clinical teaching settings. I have also contributed to academic talks and educational activities, supporting knowledge dissemination and collaborative work within the academic environment.
I am currently beginning to develop my research pathway, with an interest in participating in projects related to dental education and/or clinical areas, strengthening my skills in critical appraisal, methodology, and evidence generation. My goal is to consolidate an academic career with meaningful impact by integrating teaching excellence, continuous learning, and active involvement in research.

My main research interests are focused on clinical Endodontics, with an emphasis on diagnosis, minimally invasive treatment, regenerative Endodontics, and the integration of digital workflows into clinical practice. I am particularly interested in the study and validation of diagnostic tools and clinical criteria that enable more accurate and timely detection of pulpal and periapical pathologies, thereby strengthening evidence-based decision-making.

I aim to investigate and evaluate minimally invasive approaches designed to preserve tooth structure, optimize access cavity design, and improve the long-term prognosis of endodontically treated teeth. In this area, I am interested in analyzing clinical outcomes, prognostic variables, and treatment protocols that balance tissue preservation, effective disinfection, and adequate sealing.

I also have a strong interest in regenerative Endodontics, particularly in the evaluation of its indications, clinical outcomes, and factors influencing its predictability, with the goal of contributing to more standardized and reproducible protocols.

In addition, I seek to further explore the application of digital workflows in Endodontics, including the use of advanced diagnostic imaging, magnification, digital planning, and technologies that enhance operative precision, procedural traceability, and clinical efficiency.

My objective is to engage in research lines that generate clinically applicable evidence, contributing to the development of modern, conservative, and scientifically sound Endodontics.

Mi desempeño docente se ha desarrollado principalmente en el ámbito universitario en la Universidad de los Andes (UANDES), participando en la formación teórica y práctica de estudiantes de pregrado en Odontología. En este contexto, he contribuido de manera activa a la enseñanza y supervisión clínica, promoviendo un aprendizaje centrado en el razonamiento diagnóstico, la toma de decisiones clínicas y la aplicación de criterios basados en evidencia.

En pregrado, he asumido funciones de coordinación académica de clínica del Adulto y de planificación del área de Endodoncia, participando en la organización de actividades docentes, la estructuración de contenidos y el acompañamiento formativo de los estudiantes en el entorno clínico. Mi rol incluye procesos sistemáticos de evaluación y retroalimentación, orientados al fortalecimiento de competencias en planificación de tratamientos, comunicación con el paciente, seguridad clínica y profesionalismo.

Paralelamente, participo como profesor fijo en programas de postítulo, desarrollando docencia clínica avanzada y contribuyendo a la formación de profesionales en etapas de perfeccionamiento. Asimismo, integro el cuerpo docente del Diplomado de Endodoncia, aportando a la formación continua a través de docencia aplicada, análisis de casos clínicos y actualización de contenidos especializados.
