Inspirado en las enseñanzas de la Iglesia católica, y particularmente de san Josemaría, La Universidad de los Andes, Chile, se fundamenta en el cultivo de un saber superior de vanguardia, educación integral de los alumnos, difusión del conocimiento a la sociedad y vocación de permanencia en el tiempo.

Research and innovation at the Universidad de los Andes are oriented toward the generation of rigorous, ethical, and interdisciplinary knowledge, aligned with the University’s institutional mission and its commitment to the pursuit of truth, academic excellence, and service to society.

The institutional policy promotes the balanced development of all areas of knowledge, recognizing the fundamental contribution of the humanities and social sciences, together with the exact, natural, and health sciences, in addressing contemporary social, cultural, productive, and ethical challenges.

It also fosters national and international collaboration, research-based education at all levels, innovation with social and productive impact, and the responsible adoption of open science principles, actively contributing to the common good and to public debate from a high-standard academic perspective.
