The Faculty of Dentistry, in line with the principles and values ​​of the Universidad de los Andes, seeks to be a benchmark of academic excellence in education and research in undergraduate, postgraduate, master's and doctoral dentistry.

The Faculty considers the development of transcendental research for the generation of new knowledge, the search for truth and as an essential dimension of our university work in the training of dentists.

The Faculty has a Research Directorate whose objectives are to organize and promote quality research among teachers and students, the formation of collaboration networks and agreements that allow the realization of multi and transdisciplinary collaborative research projects, as well as inter-faculty and/or multicenter studies with other national and international universities, industry and private companies, promoting interaction within the ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation.

Consequently, one of the distinctive elements and challenges of research is to address basic research with clinical application in a transversal way, setting the goal of being leaders and innovating in the development of translational research, diagnosis and precision dentistry, oral regeneration, artificial intelligence, health policies and digitalization of dentistry to achieve an impact on the quality of oral health of our population, through the generation of new knowledge and technologies, which translate into advances and solutions to current problems that we face today in dentistry.

Currently, the Faculty offers three master's programs and a doctorate with a solid background in research and scientific production with a highly transdisciplinary approach, which means that the results of the research are applied in the clinic to our patients, allowing the application of cutting-edge treatments with a solid support based on high-quality scientific evidence.
