In the context of the International Symposium on Human Identification (ISHI), Carolina Inostroza, a faculty member from the School of Dentistry, presented the study titled “New Method and Kit for Human Forensic Identification: Easy, Fast, Simple, and Non-Destructive. Testing Under Real Conditions.”During the presentation, she shared the results obtained from this innovative procedure, which is currently in the process of being patented in Chile and the United States. The ISHI has been held annually in the United States for 26 years, bringing together scientists, companies, and law enforcement agencies from around the world to witness new technologies, political changes, and advancements in the global forensic field. This research project involved the participation of Dr. Patricio Carrasco, a faculty member and researcher from the School of Dentistry, along with biochemists Gastón Bocaz and Manuel Wong from the National DNA Registry Unit of Chile's Legal Medical Service (SML). Additionally, the researchers presented a poster titled “New Easy, Fast, and Simple Kit System for Non-Destructive Human Forensic Identification: Real-Time Testing Under Actual Conditions.”
